In Memory of Logan Anderson
On June 16, 2009 Logan Anderson died tragically in an ATV accident while working at a church camp in southern Oklahoma, just weeks after graduating from Shawnee High School. Logan was a seven year member of the Shawnee Band program and excelled as a percussionist.
All of those who knew Logan were touched by his dynamic personality. Logan was always smiling and enjoyed every minute of the life he was robbed short of. He had the ability to make others laugh and could pick up the spirits of anyone feeling down with one of his famous hugs.
To honor Logan, the Shawnee High School Band will wear shoulder patches bearing his initials during the 2009-10 school year. The colors used, burnt orange and bright green, will represent two of Logan's favorite things; The Texas Longhorns and The Incredible Hulk. Logan's initials will also appear on the 2009 marching band t-shirt. At the first football game this year, the marching band will take a moment to honor Logan by performing, "Texas Fight," the fight song of the Texas Longhorns.
Logan's light-hearted spirit and love for life brightened many days for those he came in contact with. The Shawnee High School Band will strive to approach our new year with the sense of enthusiasm that Logan always lived life with.
